Roadshow EU Team.jpgRoadshow EU, a London based company have their eye on the drawers and jewellery boxes in which the people of Costa Blanca keep their unused jewellery. “People often forget about their valuables for years once they have bought them or inherited them”. Morne Botes, owner, tries to persuade them to open the boxes and let him appraise the contents. “Because of the record price of gold, it is a very good time to sell”.

Roadshow EU is returning to the Costa Blanca after a very successful week in April and May in the area. The team will be at the Melia Benidorm on 8th June, Guardamar Hotel on 9th June, Hotel Melia Alicante on 10th June and Holiday Inn Elche on 11th June from 10.00 till 18:30, appraising and buying all jewellery and collectable watches.  You can expect a calm atmosphere at the hotel, almost like old friends meeting for coffee.

Morne Botes stresses that they do not just put your items on a scale and give you a set price like many shops and pawnbrokers, “We are collectors ourselves and look for special and antique items - many items we can pay 2 or 3 times more then the gold price”. “We are especially looking for vintage watches before 1970; all Rolex, Omega, Heuer and Breitling from this era of time are special to us”. “We always find big diamonds in this area aswell, as we offer great prices for all diamonds over 2cts”.

Roadshow EU is an easy alternative to Auction Houses, who charge high commission and you still have to pay charges even if your items are unsold. “We value your items immediately and pay cash”, says Botes. They encourage anyone who is interested to stop by and offer each potential client an appraisal and historical background on their piece, free of charge.

Reu - Adrian.jpg“We have not seen a difference in the numbers or sorts of people who visit us since the recession started” says Morne Botes, “We find that we are visited by people from middle to upper class who do not NEED the money, and have items of value that they never wear or use anymore and instead of leaving it in the drawer or safe, or pay insurance on them every year, they would rather sell it and use the cash for something more useful to their needs. We only advertise to the German, English and Dutch people living in Spain, as we have found that we do not get many items from Spanish Nationals and the quality of items from mainland Europeans are of much higher quality.

“We have had 11 Roadshows in Marbella and Estepona on the Costa Del Sol in the last 12 months, as we find many ex-pats who move here do not wear all their jewellery or even watches in the hot weather.”

According to Botes, 95% of the people who come in to inquire about their pieces end up selling. He attributes this impressive figure to the rates they are able to offer. With seven years of experience, the team evaluate the market and offer clients only the highest prices. To prevent fraud, all the sellers have to show their identity. Security and privacy is also insured.

Roadshow EU is a family owned business and 10% of their annual profits are donated to charity. Visit www.RoadshowEU.com for more details.
