Marbella - THE first gala event organized by the Wish List Fund to raise money for the Malaga orphanage Ciudad de los Niños was a tremendous success as the mums raised a grand total of 11,990 euros. Held at the sophisticated La Meridiana restaurant tucked away in an exclusive part of Marbella, more than 150 equally sophisticated guests attended to pledge their support to this worthy event. The long list of VIPs included Marbella Mayoress Angeles Muñoz.

To the sound of the violin by Nayara guests released the “Make your Wish” balloons which was a breathtaking sight as all the balloons made their way up to the sky, and some got stuck on the trees, lit up by the sparklers attached to them.

As the waiters dished out snazzy canapé after canapé, Spanish magicians Josemi and El Chuli did their utmost to entertain the guests. Never before has this reporter seen so much Chanel and Gucci being worn by stunning guests drafted in to help them with the entertainers bid to involve the crowd in a dance routine to Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller.’

Maurice Boland hosted the Wish List raffle. Despite being 50 euros a ticket, the raffle included top prices like a Rolex watch or a week for 6 at a Club La Costa resort, among many others.

WOW Factor finalist Rebecca Tate and vocalist Natasha Romanov also performed on the night.

Ciudad de los Niños Project

The project to renovate the bedrooms was born when a group of mums visited the Home and saw that the bedrooms of the youngest children (aged 2 till 12) were in need of refurbishment.  The cost for this is 15,000 euros.
